McKeating Wedding

What a beautiful winter wedding in the city.  The merging of two families and two cultures celebrated at the Merchant Hotel among loved ones the world over.  How special for the newlyweds and wonderful for me to be a part of.  All the best for a long and happy marriage Brendan and Annie!

Introducing...Mary-Jane McLoughlin

Ok, so we had a few ideas in our heads of baby sweetly sleeping, hats and tutus...they were all great in theory, but the reality was that Mary-Jane was not going to sleep, no matter how hot the room was and how long she was soothed for.  Her head had outgrown the hats and at almost four months, positioning her in a way she wasn't going to reject to, was a bit of a struggle.  She wanted to be part of the action and it was her way or the highway!  So, wakey-wakey photos it was.  But, look at how adorable she is - the image of her older siblings with the most gorgeous little face.  Sure enough, she fell asleep as soon as she left the room.  :)

And another beautiful baby...Little Rosa who joined "big" sister Orla and "big" brother Senan 10 short weeks ago. Mary and Barry certainly have a busy house with 3 under 3 but of course they wouldn't have it any other way! Welcome to the world Rosa. You're a wee angel.

Baby Johnny

If I could give you one thing in life, I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes. Only then would you realize how special you are to me.

This is what has been taking up most of my time, energy and focus these days. My beautiful baby boy is now 6 weeks old and he is such a treasure. People ask "is he a good baby" and I always think that is such a strange thing to ask -all babies are good, but really, this is one good baby. He is a happy little guy who loves cuddling and sleeping. What more could you ask for? I didn't think I wanted four children when I was growing up and I knew life would be pretty chaotic once number four came, but now that Johnny is here, I cannot imagine our lives without him. He is an absolute sweetheart and blessing to our family and I am enjoying every (well almost every) minute of him.

Susan and Kevin were married several months ago.  It was a day full of family, friends, laughter and love.  They are a wonderful couple, happy, laid back and very much in love.  I wise them all the very best for their future together.

And we certainly have a few nuts in our family!  But isn't that what makes family get togethers and reunions so fun - Who is going to do what next?  That is why I love coming home every summer to meet up with my fabulous, crazy famil.y  Here is another part of my family - my cousins, the Robonsons and their clan.  All very different characters that I always enjoy spending time with.  A great group of kids that have such fun together and clearly adore each other.  What more could you ask for?

Look at the gorgeous little angel I met this summer.  Isn't she a doll!  Little Arya White.  My sweet cousin Alli, Devon and Arya were an absolute pleasure to take country photos of.  Ok, so there were a few "incidences" but luckily everything was washable! And look how well worth all that handwashing was...Alli, you have a beautiful family - enjoy every minute of it.  I know you will.  Love you.

Meet this stunning couple - Laura and Glen.  I was honoured to photograph their wedding in the Spring and what a gorgeously perfect day it was.  The sun was shining, location idylic, everyone was smiling and the bride and groom looked beautiful and so totally in love.   What an enjoyable day for me, especially considering neither the bride nor the groom were too shy in front of the camera - it all just came naturally - they way I like it!  One of the weddings in which I came away wishing I could stay longer - I could feel I was leaving just as the real fun was about to begin.  Mr and Mrs Adamson, I wish you a lifetime of luck, love and happiness.  Thank you for having me be a part of your special day!  

Presenting the amazingly talented Jane Bailey...

As I enter into the world of Irish dancing with Emma, I am amazed and overwhelmed at the dedication, skill and talent in this area of dance.  The commitment is phenomenal - from classes and rehearsals to competitions and feis (is it feises, feis' ??)  It is amazing to watch these small girls (down to age 3) kicking and bouncing away (I'm sure there are more technical terms, but I don't kneo them yet...)  So, it was with great pleasure to take some official photos for the wonderfully talented and absolutely gorgeous Jane Bailey.  Doesn't she look amazing. The wig takes some gettting used to, but it's part of the art.  After the photos, Jane kindly treated us all to a dance (or reel or jig...) and wow was it fantastic.  Emma was in awe (as were we all)  And Emma, in turn treated us to her easy reel.  So, if this is anywhere near where Emma will end up in 10 years time, I would be delighted and incredibly proud - as I know Jane's mum Claire and whole family are!  Congratualtions Jane!

And Eva certainly is a bundle of delight.  This is my third time having the opportunity to photograph her and what a sweetue she is.  Getting so big and almost ready for nursery school.  This time, I went to her house for the photos and it was so nice to see her in her own world.  Look at the laughter on her face - what a joy!

All week it was predicting rain, yet on the wedding day of Emer and Ruairi, the sun decided to come out.  Such a lovely couple from such welcoming families and a beautiful, relaxed day.  It And tomorrow they set of to Cuba for 3 weeks of newlywed bliss. What a way to start their future together.  All the best to you Mr and Mrs Kieran, I hope your dream lasts you a thousand years.

A quick hunt for the meaning of the name Orla and I came up with -"Precious Princess". How absolutely fitting for this gorgeous little doll. I always love taking photos of newborns - it is such a wonderful time that passes very quickly (though those sleepless nights seem a LOT longer...)

An Autumn day with the Horwoods

 At long last, photos of the Horwoods - and what fun it was - frollicing through the foliage, tossing a ball (ok, so my head got in the way...), playing with possibly the biggest stick a 20 month old could manage and not a worry about a few drops of rain (or if we would ever make it to the park...) These are three very adorable little people - great imaginations, excellent "posers", with just the right amount of cheekiness. Marie Louise and Wayne, you are very lucky folks with a busy, happy home and hearts full.
