One Month On...

Ben is now one month old and as you can see - we still have the smiles on our faces - thankfully he is fitting into our lives very well. Not to say life isn't incredibly hectic and three young ones is easy, but we are surviving and enjoying this short period of "newborn insanity". Now, as a photographer - trying to get all of the shots I am dying (or striving) for seems to be posing more of a challenge for me - but John was very accommodating to help before heading to work (and kept his smile on even after Ben had a wee on his work clothes!!) I would have liked more time for these studio shots - but we did well in the limited time we had. I'll just have to keep working on these...Lucky my mini-model doesn't complain too much :)

My Babes!!!

It's not only children who grow. Parents do too. As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours. I can't tell my children to reach for the sun. All I can do is reach for it, myself. ~Joyce Maynard

Being a mom to three children is an overwhelming and wonderful responsibility. I look at my little miracles everyday and am thankful for what I have and what they give me. I am trying to cherish each day and not let this most amazing time of my life and that of my children's fly by.

A Busy Spring....

The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

This has certainly been an exciting and action-packed spring for us in Heatheringtonville. First the arrival of Ben, followed quickly by a visit from Nana. It was so wonderful to have the house full of family...watching Ben learn about the world, become more aware of his surroundings and become a little person is just amazing - even third time around, it's a true miracle. And having my mom over from Canada to share it with was wonderful.

Nana lugged over Emma's amazing new BMW bike (a gift from her Uncle Jason, Aunt Patsy and Daniel and Ashley) She is now such a BIG GIRL in her proper two wheel bike! And the envy of the neighbourhood!

My Beautiful Boy Ben

Making the decision to have a child - it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking outside your body.~ Elizabeth Stone

I must say, although it is busy in our house, it is so completely wonderful to have a newborn here again. Of course I would have been thrilled with either gender, but I really am pleased we have another boy - a playmate for Jack and Emma is delighted just to have a baby to look after -so everyone is a winner. It's amazing - number three and I still cannot stop looking at Ben and how absolutely perfect he is. I am so lucky and blessed to have three beautiful, healthy and happy children and three children just seems to "complete" our family nicely.

Ok, biased - but what a GORGEOUS baby!!!!

I thought it would be so wonderful to have my own newborn to practice all of my newborn photos with - BOY, it's hard work - feeeding, getting him to sleep, then cleaning up the wee, then the poop, then feeding and back to sleep, then positioning, getting to sleep, repositioning, feeding, back to sleep - I need a sleep myself after it all!!!

The doting big sis. I think Ben is the image of Emma as a newborn with the fine features - tiny nose and rosebud lips...

Jack is very exciting about BABY BEN - his bud! I can't believe how huge Jack now looks (my little baby Jack is not a baby anymore - boohoo!!!)
